Our Ravel&Shostakovich Album was awarded with a 10 Cum Laude rating in Luister Magazine!

Our latest album features trios by Ravel and Shostakovich (no. 2). We chose to combine these works because of their similarities in structure, but also because of the time they were written, namely right at the start of the First World War and near the end of the Second World War. Whereas in Ravel you hear the ‘excitement’ of going to the front, one hears the despair in Shostakovich, however even there, there is a wish to fight for a better world. We hope you enjoy our latest album. It’s out in the Netherlands already, the International release date is 20th of October.

Like so many other musicians we have been frustrated by the fact that we have not been able to play for a live audience for many months, and our last concert in an actual ‘full house’ where every seat was filled has been nearly a year ago, in Amsterdam’s Concertgebouw on the 11th of March. While we can’t wait to play for full halls again, the next best thing that we can currently do is play for a camera in an empty concert hall, hoping that people can enjoy the recording of this concert at home. After 3.5 years our time at Chapelle Musicale Reine Elisabeth comes to an end. We entered this unique institution with high expectations, but looking back, we can not believe how much our time there has changed our lives, both professionally as well as personally.

Our third CD came out today! The third out of four CDs recording the chamber music repertoire with piano by Dvorak includes the two piano quintets by Dvorak and his Bagatelles.

Last week we released our second CD, with Dvorak’s piano quartets! This is part of our four CD project recording Dvorak’s chamber music with piano.

We are so happy to announce that we are joining the roster of New York based agency Dispeker Artists, who will represent us and help us develop our career in North America. We greatly look forward to many exciting adventures in the New World and are grateful for the trust they have put in us!

We are looking forward very much to our Beethoven Triple Debut with the Sinfonia Varsovia and Karina Canellakis on the 7th of December at Flagey, Brussels.

We are very proud to announce that we will be awarded the Dutch ‘Kersjesprijs’. The conductor Anton Kersjes founded the fund in 1994, in order to reward and stimulate excellence and talent.

On the 7th of December at 20.15 we will play Beethoven’s Triple Concerto, Op.56 with Sinfonia Varsovia, conducted by Karina Canellakis as part of the Music Chapel Festival ‘Vienna Classics’ at Flagey, Brussels, Belgium!

We are proud to announce that we have just released our first CD, on Alpha-Classics, in collaboration with Outhere Music and Queen Elisabeth Music Chapel! On this first CD, part of a 4 CD Dvorak project, we recorded Dvorak’s Op. 65 in F Minor, and Op. 90 in E Minor ‘Dumky’.

In March, the Busch Trio went on tour with Miguel da Silva on viola to perform 5 concerts in France as part of the Belle Saison concerts. The Trio also visited several schools and retirement homes where they gave workshops.

This February saw the Trio play their debuts at the BOZAR in Brussels and Concertgebouw in Amsterdam. Later this month the trio have concerts in the UK, and next month they will be playing in Belle Saison Season in France. More information on our Concerts page!

The Busch Trio have signed a recording contract with Alpha Classics, with whom they will be recording the complete Dvorak Chamber works with piano, which will be published on four CDs.

There’s nothing like the rush of young blood to start a new year with high hopes. The Park Lane Group offers its annual Young Artists showcase all this week, but the Kirckman Concert Society, another cradle of the gifted, nipped them in the bud last Saturday with this scorching programme from the Busch Ensemble, a piano trio bursting with far more than promise.
